Today Cliff and Cathy have emailed to say that Cliff has a terrible cold and may not be able to do the Bali trip. I have faith that mass quantities of vitamin C will do the trick. Hopefully antibiotics won't be needed. Cliff - hurry up and get well.
We have been planning to meet up with C&C in Hong Kong on Sunday. Scott and I fly tomorrow (5/15) to Hong Kong and arrive there late afternoon on Saturday 5/16. We'll have one day (5/17) to sightsee before departing for Denpasar, Bali on Monday 5/18.
In 2004, Scott and I spent several days in Hong Kong with Larry & Renee before going on to a SW China and Northern Vietnam exploration. Scott loved HK. I think it's his favorite city. We both call it NY on steroids. The architecture is amazing; a building designed by one famous architect stands a few feet from another. And old China is still remarkably close to the new. It will be great fun to see how much things have changed since '04.
Great news. In the afternoon C&C emailed to say that Cliff is feeling much better and they're planning to catch their 12:55 pm flight tomorrow from LA after all. The trip just wouldn't have been the same without them. Cathy is taking herbal remedies to ward off the plague and hopefully by the time they land in Hong Kong late evening on Saturday, Cliff will be recovered. Maybe the rest on the airplane will do him good.
